Oxford Sports Shops

The world-famous University and the Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race are usually two of the first things people think of when you mentioned Oxford.  Whilst this race does attract a lot of attention, there is plenty more to Oxford's sporting heritage than just rowing - and the city is a particularly good place to browse the various independent sports shops that are dotted around Oxford.

Amateur and professional sports clubs in the city include Oxford United, Oxford City FC and the Oxford Cheetahs. Whilst none of these teams have seen the same level of household-name success as other clubs, the large student population ensures that there is always plenty of sport being played at any one time - and this goes someway to explaining why there are so many terrific Oxford sports shops in the area.
