Based in California, Skechers is an American shoe company that has seen a massive growth in popularity since the company's launch in 1995. Whilst the shoes produced by Skechers generally fit much more neatly into the 'lifestyle' rather than 'sports' category, the company does have a sub-brand called Skechers Sport which is where their more sport-orientated ranges lie.
The most recognisable range of Skechers Sport shoes is their Shape Up range. These interesting looking shoes are designed to help tone your muscles, improve your posture and give you a work-out whilst you walk. With the aim of helping you improve your fitness without stepping in a gym, Skechers Shape Up shoes have a rolling bottom section that simulates walking on soft sand. Whether they really are as beneficial as an hour in a gym is open to interpretation, but they've certainly attracted a lots of fans since their launch!
